So I know, I've been slacking with the posts this week, but 'tis the season and i've been running around shopping and working hard on those final top songs & albums of 2010 and of the decade - will be posting that in a few days or so. However, I finally got to my DVR tonight and got to watch SNL from this past Saturday and was inspired yet again. The music inspiration was two of my favorite rappers, Eminem & Lil Wayne. The first performance was Eminem ft Lil Wayne for No Love. The second round was Eminem singing Won't Back Down and then Lil Wayne followed with 6'7 - which both solo performances was SO good. So I went directly onto you tube to track the videos and share my inspiration of the night... love it! Hope you guys all enjoy this as well....

Winona Ryder - Elle Magazine

This has to be one of the women actresses that I have been a fan of since I was a child and I saw her in Heathers & BeetleJuice; then Edward Scissorhands, Dracula and Reality Bites when I was just about to become a teenager... just great films and there are so much more that I have not listed yet.  and hello, her relationship with Johnny Depp was so cool...that they got tattoos to represent each other... so cool!  Not sure if it would be seen that way now, since celebrity couples are all over the place now unlike their time it was more private and the only information we as fans would know is what they allowed to share.  oh the good old days...

but back to Ryder, she has been pretty out of the whole acting scene... she has done a few acting stints, where feels more like a cameo but its Winona Ryder - so its okay, but I was hoping she would return to take on bigger roles and you can now see her in Black Swan with another actress that I enjoy watching Natalie Portman and another cool chic actress Mila Kunis.   And soon you will see her in the Ron Howard directed film, Dilemma with funny dudes Kevin James, Vince Vaughn and the gorgeous and wonderful actress Jennifer Connelly.   Hopefully this is her second coming into films!

One thing that brings me joy after new years... Friday Night Lights! I can't believe this will be the final season - absolutely hands down one of the best shows EVER! Awesome band and I totally love that they took their time to make a great album and not just another album. I have to admit this song is definitely one of my favorites off this album. 2010 AMAs

Last night's AMAs was definitely not the best.... but there were a few good performances!  Also, I have to admit that it was great seeing the awesome Pink and her adorable husband Carey Hart - they seem very excited about the baby.  Check her out singing her single, 'Raise your glass' she was one of my favs!

Kid Rock of course was cool...he is always so american bad ass - gotta love!!   I'm assuming this will be his second single, "times like these"...


And lastly, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys performed snippets of a few songs from both bands respectively.  Songs from new kids on the block made me feel like i was in second grade again.   totally fun!  heehee and backstreet boys are so good with their medleys.... made me wanna see them live.  What did you think?

Red Riding Hood (2011) - HD Trailer

Catherine Hardwicke directs this revamped version of the popular The Little Red Riding Hood story, but revamped might not be the better term. After you watch the trailer you might be a little scared, spooked out. Either way, the cast is pretty damn good so I am a little intrigued, the great Gary Oldman, who is great at being seriously scary seductive without looking like he is trying, the upcoming Amanda Seyfried, Lukas Haas - who I've loved since I was a teenager, Virgina Madsen, the cool Billy Burke and Michael Shanks. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

It's so bittersweet with the conclusion of Harry Potter films... the first part of the finale premiered in London this week and the three main actors were feeling the same. Relieved to have it finally done but also very sad and are starting to feel nostalgic of the idea of not having to film another film. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have grown right in front of the world...and let me just say how Emma Watson has become such a fashion icon and she is only 20 years old. Amazing that in the past 1 or 2 years, she has definitely become someone to watch on the red carpets.  Here is the trailer and the pics are from the London premiere!

I am not too familiar with Jason Aldean or his music, but love Kelly Clarkson's voice and was looking forward to this performance and let me just say it was great. Totally sounded so different, sounded like a good classic 80s hit being revived - which you gotta admit 80s had some great classic love songs. The performance was great and I will definitely be looking into Jason's music history. What did you think?

Taylor Swift can definitely write lyrics but I've never been a fan when she sings live. For some reason it always seems off, however, last night was probably the best i've seen her. The lyrics are great... what do you think?

Coal Miner's Daughter - Miranda Lambert Loretta Lynn Sheryl Crow

Loretta Lynn is one of the first woman to start the ground work for women in the country music. After I saw the movie, Coal Miner's Daughter, loved her voice, the music and the story was amazing. I definitely recommend watching the film. This song has to be one of my favorites by Loretta and after 50 years in the music industry... she released an album Loretta and her friends, which she has several artists singing her songs. This version is on the album as well with Miranda Lambert & Sheryl Crow.

2010 CMAs

Definitely some great performances last night and of course I will share some of my favorites.... but just want to say i'm happy that Miranda Lambert won 4 awards (nominated for 9) so not too bad and her fiancée Blake Shelton won 2 as well. Also happy that Brad Paisley won entertainer of the year - he has been nominated several times and you would think he had won one already but this was his first time winning this award - even beat out my personal favorite Keith Urban but well deserved - congrats Brad! His acceptance speech had me grab for my tissue box. I really do enjoy music and have a love for it that will probably endure my entire life.

I will post some outstanding performances and I will also post any fashion that stood out to me as well. The first performance is going to be the oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, who is promoting a film called Country Strong and in her first time ever played live in front of an audience and sang the same titled song, 'Country Strong' with Vince Gill. She seemed very nervous but focused and took it very seriously and she did an amazing job - definitely want to see the movie and i'm loving this song; pay attention to the words, you will see why it's so good.

Heard the song twice yesterday and it gave this morning as I was getting dressed -- its pretty catchy and I think the video has a real cool illusion. Anna Kendrick is adorably cute in this as well. Besides Twilight - loved her in Up in the Air. Can't wait to see her in Scott Pilgrim film.

Keith Urban has to have one of the best voices in country music. He is personally one of my favorite country artists and maybe thats because he does some nice guitar riffs or that he writes lyrics so well - its hard not to like him. I have to admit he is damn great live and you can tell he purely loves being on stage and playing his guitar which is pure coolness to me.
Anyway, this is his new single off his new album 'get closer' which will be released November 16. He always seems to be such a sweet down to earth cool guy...for this album cover he decided to let the fans chose from two options and here is winner, his latest album cover - very simple, cool and sexy.

I'm a fan of T.I.; 1-from what i've seen in interviews - he seems a smart, intelligent, family man and 2-he is definitely a great rapper. however, i'm a little disappointed in the recent arrest with his wife and now going back to serve another several months. I think he learned a big lesson the first time and was trying to help the kids (as seen on MTV's T.I.'s Road to Redemption) and he is very honest about his mistakes and I have to give him respect for that. It's sad that he got arrested again and is going to face more time. I can't wait to hear this new album...

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams both star in this film, Blue Valentine.
I know Gosling was attached to this script for a while now - possibly a few years but it just wasn't get made for some reason. And once it was definitely getting done and Williams was on board and as soon as they started filming this film...heard only positive things about these two in the film. The chemistry is insane, the acting is amazing (which shouldn't suprise you - both have been nominated for an Academy Award - which normals means shit to me, but personally I think they are great actors). Has anyone else heard about this film?

As soon as I heard Jesse Eisenberg was starring in a film about facebook back when...i was definitely IN. Huge fan of Eisenberg based on his passed films (Adventureland and Zombieland) and i've heard he has written some off-broadway plays, which is impressive; talented guy.
Then finally, during the summer, I posted a teaser trailer for this upcoming film starring Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake and oh yeah, David Fincher is the Director. Yes, that David Fincher, the same Director who did the great 'Fight Club', enjoyable 'Panic Room' and kinda freaky but good 'seven'. Oh okay -- i'm still IN!
Now there are a few trailers out there and talk of oscar buzz for the cast, director and screenplay and i'm so ready to see this film and i'm pretty confident i'm going to walk in with huge expectations and not be disappointed. It's just one of those films that will capture the attention....of possibly '500 million friends'
Just gotta say, i'm hoping Eisenberg gets the recognition he deserves and see that he is a great, smart, young, talented actor.
Not even going to ask who is going to be watching this film this weekend, but more like who isn't?

Legendary, iconic actor, Tony Curtis has passed away. He definitely leaves behind great, classic performances and contributed so much in the film industry... and i've always been amazed by the old school Hollywood and he was a perfect example of that old school cool hollywood.
Here is a scene from one of my favorite films, Some Like It Hot --besides Tony Curtis , another great icon (and one of my favorite female icon) Marilyn Monroe, and of course another legendary actor Jack Lemmon star in this classic and rated one of the best comedies.

One of the films that grabbed my attention from Toronto is...

A story of 3 people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. Directed by Clint Eastwood; starring Matt Damon, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jay Mohr, Cécile de France and Frankie/George McLaren.

And for those who are curious…the song playing during the trailer is 'Lullaby' by Sia - has one of the best voices! One of my personal favs from Sia. The song works really well with this trailer.

Venice & Toronto Film Festivals....

I've been keeping track and both festivals and half of the movies I've already posted the film trailers such as Easy A, The Town, Conviction, Somewhere, Barney's Version and Trust. I've also seen some additional trailers and will be posting those that look very interesting but thought I'd post some shots of the cast I listed above.

I really do enjoy this time of year just because it's starts brand new.. new seasons all around! Enjoy these pics for now...

Kid Rock Featured On The Upcoming Coal Miners Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn Album

I actually discovered Loretta Lynn about 10 years ago when I caught the film, 'A Coal Miner's Daughter' on TV which Sissy Spacek nailed. Which opened the door to her music, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and other country artists music. Anyone else curious to hear this tribute album?

This is the second trailer and I have to admit the second is much better than the first.. and personally, i'm a fan of Edward Burns past films and so I decided to post this trailer.... what do you guys think?

Collaborations...

I just wanted to say how i am really enjoying a band like MGMT collaborating with Kid Cudi and Hayley (from Paramore) and Rivers Cuomo (from Weezer) collaborating with B.o.B. It really just shows the world and music especially have intertwined. Just growing up things were so different... you were looked at different if you liked Nirvana but yet liked Jay-Z; and i'm talking about 10, 15 years back. Also, you should remember these younger pop, hip hop and rock artists have been influenced with the same music on the radio that I have and it has been building this intertwining party which i'm so happy to see.
I'm just really appreciative of the music industry becoming so welcoming of each other and majority of the people wanna do more and try and learn and rise above the BS and make some really great music! okay sorry...just wanted to say how i'm enjoying all this new music.
