2011 Cannes Film Festival -- Movies & Fashion Part 2....

Time to post a second entry dedicated to the 2011 Cannes Film Festival... which fashion wise is wonderful.  Reading mixed reviews on some films, especially The Tree of Life which is competing and I really want to see it.

But before we get to that film, wanted to post some pictures of one of my favorite actors of all time, Johnny Depp.  I've posted Depp at the photo call for Pirates of the Caribbean:  On Stranger Tides.  I've also included a picture of Penelope Cruz, who looked amazing in Stella McCartney.  I've also posted both of them on the red carpet for the film, Penelope wearing Marchesa, but Johnny Depp is the classic in this picture.  How can he be so beautiful...bless him, the career and all the great films he has made (and will make) that I have grown up watching and loving...thank you Johnny!

Brad Pitt being such an attractive man but he did look good at the photo call and on the red carpet with his lady, Angelina Jolie.  And this photo call, Brad decided to stay cool all in white (Maison Martin Margiela and Tom Ford sunglasses) and his co-star, Jessica Chastain is wearing a beautiful red Oscar de la Renta dress and shoes by Brian Atwood.

This premiere was a full celebrity line...including Brad and his lady, Jolie in a beautiful Atelier Versace gown, co-stars Chastain in a very pretty yellow Zac Posen dress and the wonderful bad boy Sean Penn all suited up.  Other attendees included, the gorgeous rocker Gavin Rossdale and his cool wife Gwen Stefani in a stunning Stella McCartney jumpsuit, the always beautiful Zoe Saldana (Giorgio Armani).

Iconic Rob Lowe looking sharp on the red carpet with his wife and speaking of legendary, Dennis Hooper's son Henry Hooper attended the premiere with his 'Restless' co-star Mia Wasikowska.    Jude Law, looking relaxed and comfortable, since he has to be at the festival the entire time, I believe Jude decided to play with his clothes, I mean how many times can one man wear a black suit/tux?

The remainder of pictures are other actors that stood out to me... starting with Uma, well, she is just a show stopper these past few days... simple and elegant.  Bar Refaeli wearing a sequined dress by Roberto Cavalli.   Gwen in her own label, wearing such a fun summer dress, just really pretty.  And lovebirds, Max Irons (son of another legendary actor, Jeremy Irons) and Australian actress Emily Browning, enjoying each others company as it appears (how cute are they???!).  What's your favorite so far?

thank you to www.people.com, www.justjared.com and www.yahoo.com for images!!

Fox's New Shows -- coming in the fall!

I got to see the trailers for all the shows FOX picked up and these are the ones that stuck out and I will definitely check out.  I'm most excited about The Finder (starring Geoff Stults, Michael Clarke Duncan and possibly Saffron Burrows), New Girl (Zooey Deschanel) and I Hate My Teenage Daughter (Jamie Pressly).  I will also check out Allen Gregory (Jonah Hill) and Alcatraz (Sam Neill). What about you?  Any show your excited to watch?

Here Comes the King Movies + TV: GQ.com

Alexander Skarsgard plays my favorite character (Eric) on HBO's True Blood.  Besides his obvious attractive looks... something in the eyes.  Even on the show, the character Eric showed up as a villain but after a while, something in the eyes, you as a viewer started to feel compassion towards his character.   Basically it just shows how good of an actor Alexander is.  The new season starts in June... I've already posted the trailer, can't wait for another season of the show, what happens next to the character and see the great things coming up for Alexander Skarsgard!

I've posted the link to read the full interview that GQ did (www.gq.com) and don't forget to check out the slideshow (I, of course went ahead and posted some of my favorites from the slideshow).

    Trailers for NBC shows...

Wow...NBC looks like they picked some really good, funny and entertaining shows for the fall.  Prime Suspect being one of the first that looked really good and intense.  Maria Bello and Aidan Quinn, both great film actors and are starring in this cop drama.   The Playboy Club looks like it will be so much fun to watch - having all the elements, funny, smart, alluring and yet it will have its drama aspects as well.  Newly married Eddie Cibrian, Amber Heard and a few others you would recognize star in this show that I definitely want to see this!  Then there is this, Awake, about a detective played by Jason Isaacs who is torn between two realities after a tragic car accident.  The cute and funny Amanda Peet's show got picked up as well, which is called Bent.  Seems like it would be fun to watch... and love the David Walton (who was on NBC's Perfect Couples that got canceled - he was my favorite on the show!).  One that looked real fun was Whitney.. funny!

Some other shows that look good....

What are you interesting in watching?

    Julia Roberts & Tom Hanks

When I read last week that great fashion magazine W was going to have an article on Julia & Tom, for some reason didn't come to my normal reaction which would be, 'can't wait to see what they are going to wear'.  So when I finally go to read the article and discovered the cover and the photo spread, well, hello.   Interesting article on them and how they came together to make their upcoming film, Larry Crowne.  I've posted my favorite photos from the article and the article link is below - so take a read and see the slideshow! Julia Roberts is beautiful... in these pictures, you have to see that - no one could deny her that, right?!?

    Britney Spears...

Harper's Bazaar has put Britney on the cover of it's June/July issue and can I just say how gorgeous she looks!   I've added the link below so you can read the article and see the slideshow...but I went ahead and posted two of my favorite pictures.   The first one Britney is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress and wow, just really love that dress!!  How awesome is this picture?!  The second picture wearing a white Bill Blass dress and looks so classic pretty...  thanks Harper's Bazaar!

Straw Dogs (2011) Official Theatrical Trailer HD

WOW... a remake, but check it out! Never saw the original.... fan of James Mardsen so i'm interested. Alexander Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth also star in this film.

2011 Cannes Film Festival -- Movies & Fashion Part 1....

Let me just start off with that I was pretty excited when I heard Midnight in Paris was going to open the festival (May 11 - 22, 2011).  Woody Allen is a wonderful director and an icon in the film industry hands down, however, his films for me are 50/50 - either I really enjoy it or just don't like it.  Midnight in Paris looks funny and the cast is pretty cool, you got the funny Owen Wilson, the cool gorgeous Rachel McAdams, plus Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody, Alison Pill and the list goes on and on.  Wednesday morning, May 11th comes around and I go directly to entertainment news to see whats been happening in Cannes and I have to say read some good reviews.  Let me clarify something, even if the reviews were bad, I'd still want to see it.  I don't take critics reviews or opinions too seriously - if something looks good to me, I'm going to see it.    But sometimes when critics are loving it, and people listen to these critics, it can raise attention and want to see it once it's released at the box office.  Uma Thurman, Robert De Niro, Jude Law, and some others, are jurors this year, but De Niro is heading the jurors.

Another aspect of Cannes that I enjoy, year after year, is the fashion.  Love to see what the ladies decide to wear and the men look so fine in the suits or tuxs... it's just fun to see.  So far this year, some class acts on this red carpet... check out how gorgeous Uma Thurman looked and dashing Mr. Jude Law.

Midnight to Paris cast also did not disappoint, check the guys out as well.. but let me tell Rachel McAdams is just  such a beautiful woman, really.  Also want to point out this is the first time, Rachel has walked down any red carpet with her new boyfriend Michael Sheen (yes, the actor co-starring in this film).

And so far there a few more actors that caught my attention, but another completely mesmorizing pretty lady is Diane Krueger accompanied by her handsome but delightful Joshua Jackson.   How stunning does she look?  Really stunning couple...one of my favorite celebrity couples (un-married anyway).

Really liked Salma Hayek's dress.. just made for her.   Thought Emily Browning looked young and hip during the photo call for her film, Sleeping Beauty, which is now on my list of 'to watch'.  Another added onto that list was Restless, directed by Gus Van Sant featuring Mia Wasikowska and Henry Hooper (yes, the late Dennis Hoopers' son, has his fathers eyes).   Also, another picture of McAdams and Sheen attending the screening of 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Theophilus London.... 'Why Even Try' video ft. Sara Quin

Okay, so this is the second video I've posted of Theophilus London... and I just heard his full EP and I have to admit, pretty cool.  Liking the music influences and you can totally catch it in his songs (Prince, Marvin Gaye, maybe some 80s rock, i.e., The Cure, The Smiths).   His EP, called Lovers Holiday, was released this past February...luckily www.SPIN.com was very cool to have the EP available for a listen (EXCLUSIVE EP: Hot Rapper Theophilus London | SPIN.com ).   My favorites are 'Why Even Try', 'Flying Overseas' and 'Strange Love'.

    Rachel McAdams, Elle Magazine

Small Q&A and slideshow... Rachel is promoting Woody Allen's new film, Midnight In Paris, which teams her up again with the funny and cool Owen Wilson (they were both in Wedding Crashers).
