    Latest Discovery -- Citizen Cope

So I heard this song a few weeks ago and let me tell you this guy has a great voice and a real cool way about him. Listen to 'healing hands' and then please continue and check out his website, http://www.citizencope.com/

I'm hoping someone will listen and love his voice and sound and pass the new discovery along to a friend, sibling, etc. FYI -- his eyes are killer... enjoy!

'Sweet Disposition' by The Temper Trap

    Spoon's 'Written in Reverse'

This song is Spoon's first single off their latest album, Transference which they released a few months back -- but recently I just can't stop singing to it or wanting it to play on my favorite radio station 101.9 RXP! listen to "written in reverse" & tell me its not good!!

R.I.P. Jim Marshall -- LEGENDARY ROCK PHOTOGRAPHER

Jim Marshall is the greatest rock n roll photographer EVER - PERIOD! He was respected by the musicians and was allowed to get close when no one else would be. He has taken some extraordinary shots of iconic figures such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, Janis Joplin & the list goes on and on. He would be the first person to be invited to take shots of festivals such as Woodstock. His work speaks for itself...

the link to rolling stone magazine has a nice article on him plus a link to a slide show of some of the best 60s & 70s musicians. I've also added Jim Marshall's website as well....

    COREY IAN HAIM

I know I’m a 2 weeks behind on the loss of Corey Haim but just needed to post something. Another childhood favorite has passed....

My first Corey Haim movie was Dream a Little Dream, which as a little girl totally fell in love with and my older sister would tell me – you have to check out License to Drive which I remember laughing and watching it with my parents and they too seemed to enjoy it. As the time went by, I finally got to see Lost Boys and Lucas.

It’s very sad that he left this place so soon and so young, only 38 years old. It’s also very upsetting that people (including musicians and other actors) have died recently due to mixing prescription pills which doctors have provided to these individuals (although Corey’s death could have been caused by enlarged heart & water in his lungs). It’s very sad and tragic. It’s very sad that he did not accomplish all that he wanted and being so young when he was grabbing so much attention. I mean, it’s crazy to think he was drinking beer and smoking weed in between filming Lucas and Lost Boys and that’s where the hysteria began and I remember buying teen pop magazines and he would be on every cover week after week. It’s a lot to grasp for a teenager and obviously Hollywood can be a very sad and lonely place since there have been so many past tragedies.

If I had to pick my favorite favorite Corey Haim movie, I would have to say it would be Lucas - it was sweet but sad movie. Followed by License to Drive, Lost Boys, Dream a Little Dream and Past Getaway. His lopsided smile definitely was one trademark of his that was undeniably adorable. He will forever be remembered by that smile and by the work he has left behind.

    RIP Corey Ian Haim
    12/23/97 – 3/10/10

One of my favorite quotes from ‘Lucas’ (1986):
“I guess everybody has their own idea of fun. Some people go to football games. Other people do less superficial things.”

Lil Wayne's latest single "Drop the World" feat. Eminem

So this is another single off of Lil Wayne's album, "Rebirth" -- although he will be in prison for roughly a year, he has made sure to leave music/videos behind to please the fans.

Supposedly he has filmed about 10 or 20 videos of his own and some for other artists to be featured in their videos. Fans of course will be please to know this.

So let me know what you think about this lastest new video. It's pretty dark but I like it.

    Dan Black

Check this song out -- it was out i believe roughly a year ago. Dan Black remixed Hypnotize by the great Notoriou B.I.G. Check it out -- Dan Black's HYPNTZ
