    Oasis – great album makers!!

So today is Noel Gallagher’s birthday– he turns 42, so happy birthday!
And last week a London based radio station posted its Best 100 British songs of all time and Oasis took top 3 which are:
    1. Oasis – Live Forever
    2. Oasis – Don’t Look Back in Anger
    3. Oasis – Wonderwall
But in total they have 9 songs listed on the top 100 - check out the list yourself
    http://www.xfm.co.uk/news/2009/best-british-songs

In my opinion they are still missing two songs that should have been listed, Whatever and Stand by me.

    Whatever

    Whatever - Oasis

    Stand By Me (acoustic version)

The Tudors - Everyone should be watching this!!

I just recently started watching the episodes for this current season (Season 3 for those of you who do not follow this great show - YOUR MISSING OUT!) and I am blown away by Jonathan Rhys Meyers' performance this season. Don't get me wrong he has always been on point and last season when Thomas Moore was decapitated - i felt bad for King Henry but the four episodes I have seen for this season - Meyes' is beyond great!

A few scenes from different episodes got me! The scene from episode 3 where he reconciles with is eldest daughter Mary - very sweet and touching. Two scenes from episode 4 where he watches the ladies wash Queen Jane's hair -- a very touching way of showing his love for his queen. Shown and executed very well! And lastly, the dispear of King Henry when Queen Jane was ill - i wanted his "light to stay in the world of his darkness" - just really great!

This has emmy quality all over it and well-deserved!!!

Another group/song that I think deserves more airplay!

Airborne Toxic Event - "Sometime After Midnight", off their self debut album which was released sometime in 2007. Enjoy!

Sometime Around Midnight - The Airborne Toxic Event

On the Way by Billy Boy on Poison

Billy Boy on Poison, "On the way" . They also have a cool song called "Happy Valentine's Day" which is pretty cool too. This video for On the Way, was directed by the great Keifer Sutherland!!! Let me know what you think (of the song or the video).

This group actually played this song acoustically on 'Pinfield in the mornings on 101.9 RXP - where rock lives!' Check it out under the audio podcasts.

Friday Night Lights -- to air on NBC next summer!!!

So I just read that next season of Friday Night Lights won't air (on NBC) until summer of 2010! We are going to wait a year to see an episode!

Taylor Kitsch has been in Cannes promoting a movie that he is currently filming with Ryan Phillippe and Malin Akerman called The Bang Bang Club.

    Choke – DVD Review…

Sam Rockwell is so much fun – whether his character is playing a handsome bad guy or a suicidal husband, or even a cowboy. I’ve been a fan since Charlie’s Angel and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (which everyone should see – SO GOOD)!

In Choke, Sam Rockwell plays Victor Mancini, son to Ida Mancini, played by the legendary Angelica Huston, who is too ill to recognize the people in front of her. He had to drop out of medical school to care for his mother and pay the bills of the hospital care. He has a sexual addiction and attends workshops for his addiction and works at a loser colonial theme park. Oh yeah, almost forget he scans people by pretending to choke on food so the people who do save him feel obligated to send him money. However, Victor falls for a doctor (surprise there) and feels that he should know his father or more about his family and tries to figure out a way to obtain this information from his ill mother before she dies. Throughout the movie there are scenes of his childhood with his mother and certain things he experienced and you begin to feel for Victor.

There is a scene between Huston and Rockwell that even made me tear up. As a whole this movie is missing something, but if you’re a fan of Rockwell, I think you should see him and Huston – just really good and it does get you at the end.

Robert Pattinson at Cannes & New Moon Poster

So Robert Pattinson arrived in Cannes yesterday and the poor guy is bombarded with fans and paparazzi at the airport. I was reading an article about Cannes and saw this shot and thought I must share. Part of me feels really bad for him cause he always looks so scared when there are alot of people surrounding him.

I've also seen the new movie poster for New Moon which will be released towards the end of this year (november).

    State of Play...movie review

Russell Crowe is wonderfully good at what he does. Ben Affleck is awesome (never understood the bad rep that he has) and Rachel McAdams, well is just fun to watch. The supporting cast was pretty cool too; you got Robin Wright Penn, Jason Bateman, Helen Mirren and what felt like a cameo Viola Davis (from last year's critically acclaimed movie Doubt).

State of Play was a typical storyline of a political world full of secrets, lies and murder conspiracy, however, they were some things that I did not see coming or thought one way and it turned out to be another… it was fun to watch and uncover what they laid out for us viewers. It was definitely a good movie and Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck were so believable at having this long old friendship full of good times but yet you could sense some sort of history that soured and never fully recuperated. The relationship between McAdams character, Della and Crowe’s character Cal was enjoyable and lightened up the movie and especially Jason Bateman’s scenes – that really made myself and the audience laugh.

Definitely a worth while movie… it might still be playing in smaller theatres, so try to check it out!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past -- movie review

Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner were so adorable in this movie... it’s the typical all American girl and all American boy who grew up together knowing they were somehow linked. Growing up they went in opposite directions but eventually reconnect but McConaughey’s character Connor Mead can’t commit although he does love Garner’s character Jenny Perotti. Micheal Douglas plays Connor’s dead uncle who Connor grew up idolizing and pretty much lived his life how his uncle had in the past which causes Connors’ past girlfriends to visit him and have him watch his past relationships and reflect on how his actions hurt the women he has been involved in especially Jenny.

I must admit I was slightly disappointed as a whole – thought I would laugh much more, but don’t get me wrong, the movie is cute and worth watching but if you don’t get a chance to go to the movies – definitely add it on your queue for netflix or blockbuster.

Oh I was happy to see the supporting cast with Breckin Meyer (Can't Hardly Wait, 54, Blue State) as Connor’s little brother who is getting married to Sandra, played by Lacey Chabert (from party of five and the movie Mean Girls). And from the hilariously funny Superbad, Emma Stone played the first ghost of his past girlfriends.

It was definitely a sweet movie and worth watching Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey. And I’m happy to report it’s been in the top five since it was released which is such a good sign when you have all the these action sci-fi films competing!

    Updates soon....

I apologize for not updating the blog with any new information, but will update with two moview reviews shortly.

Dom DeLuise Passes Away at Age 75

Legendary actor and comedian Dom DeLuise died on Monday night at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 75. Keeping his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

The actor starred in dozens of films over the years, often teaming up with off-screen pal Burt Reynolds. Some classics were “The Cannonball Run,” “Spaceballs” and “History of the World Part I”.

Most recently, he was working on the CGI live-action fantasy film “Instant Karma,” starring Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan and Mira Sorvino. Reynolds and DeLuise both had voice roles in the film.

DeLuise leaves behind his wife, actress Carol Arthur, and three sons, all of whom followed in their father’s Hollywood footsteps.

Peter DeLuise, 42, has starred in numerous TV shows, including “21 Jumpstreet,” “SeaQuest DSV” and “Stargate SG-1.” He’s also worked extensively as a TV writer, director and producer on shows including “Kyle XY” and the “Stargate” franchise.

Michael DeLuise, 38, had a recurring role as TJ on “Gilmore Girls.” His other acting credits include “Brooklyn South,” “NYPD Blue” and “SeaQuest DSV.”

David DeLuise, 37, has also made numerous TV appearances on such shows as “Gilmore Girls,” “CSI” and “Without A Trace.” Most recently, David is known for playing Jerry Russon on the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

    Jack's Mannequin, Swim

Andrew McMahon is the lead vocals and lyricist of Jack’s mannequin and on their latest album there is a song called “Swim” – its truly touching. I actually heard it a few weeks ago on 101.9 - Matt Pinfield was actually interviewing him and Andrew is a surver of leukemia and I’m not sure if this song has anything to do with his experience but it’s a touching song and thought I should share it. I’m hoping Matt Pinfield (who is currently in rehab) has this song on his current ipod play list as he is takes control and gets better and healthy and returns to the morning show because his fans miss him. (lyrics are below...)

    Swim - Jacks Mannequin

    You've gotta swim
    Swim for your life
    Swim for the music
    That saves you
When you're not so sure you'll survive
    You gotta swim
    And swim when it hurts
    The whole world is watching
    You haven't come this far
    To fall off the earth
    The currents will pull you
    Away from your love
    Just keep your head above

    I found a tidal wave
Begging to tear down the dawn
    Memories like bullets
They fired at me from a gun
    A crack in the armor
    I swim to brighter days
    Despite the absence of sun
    Choking on salt water
    I'm not giving in
    I swim

    You gotta swim
    Through nights that won't end
    Swim for your families
    Your lovers your sisters
    And brothers and friends
    Yeah you've gotta swim
    Through wars without cause
    Swim for the lost politicians
Who don't see their greed as a flaw

    The currents will pull us
    Away from our love
    Just keep your head above

    I found a tidal wave
Begging to tear down the dawn
    Memories like bullets
They fired at me from a gun
    Cracking me open now
    I swim for brighter days
    Despite the absence of sun
    Choking on salt water
    I'm not giving in
    Well I'm not giving in
    I swim

    You gotta swim
    Swim in the dark
    There's no shame in drifting
Feel the tide shifting and wait for the spark
    Yeah you've gotta swim
    Don't let yourself sink
    Just find the horizon
I promise you it's not as far as you think
The currents will drag us away from our love
    Just keep your head above
    Just keep your head above
    Swim
    Just keep your head above
    Swim, swim
    Just keep your head above
    Swim

I Can Feel A Hot One by Manchester Orchestra...great song!

Manchester Orchestra – “I can feel a hot one”

I Can Feel A Hot One - Manchester Orchestra

I could feel a hot one taking me down
For a moment, I could feel the force
Fainted to the point of tears
And you were holding on to make a point
    What's the point?

I'm but a clean man, stable and alone man
Make it so I won't have to try
The faces always stay the same
So I face the fact that I'm just fine
I said that I'm just fine

    I remember, head down,
    After you had found out
Manna is a hell of a drug
And I need a little more, I think
Because enough is never quite enough
    What's enough?

I took it like a grown man crying on the pavement
Hoping you would show your face
    But I haven't heard a thing you've said
In at least a couple hundred days
    What'd you say?

I was in the front seat, shaking it out
And I was asking if you felt alright
I never want to hear the truth
I want to hear your voice, it sounded fine
    My voice, it sounded fine

I could feel my heartbeat taking me down
And for the moment, I would sleep alright
    Invading with a selfish fear
To keep me up another restless night
    Another restless night

The blood was dry, it was sober
    The feeling of audible cracks
And I could tell it was over
From the curtains that hung from your neck

And I realized that then you were perfect
And my teeth ripping out of my head
And it looked like a painting I once knew
Back when my thoughts weren't entirely intact

To pray for what I thought were angels
    Ended up being ambulances
And the Lord showed me dreams of my daughter
She was crying inside your stomach

    And I felt love again
