Brittany Murphy - talented, so young... so sad!

Brittany Murphy passed away yesterday at the age of 32 of cardiac arrest. They are running tests to see what caused her heartattack, but their have been some talks/gossip about diabetes or pills. Nonetheless, it is a sad thing and unfortunate to lose a great actor and for her family to lose a daughter, a wife, a friend, etc., especially during this time of year. Please keep Brittany & her family in your thoughts and prayers.

At the young age of 32, Brittany Murphy has left some unforgettable performances behind... starting with the cult classic, 'Clueless' - which she played Tai. Wonderful performance in 'Girl, Interrupted' which starred classic actors Winona Ryder & Angelina Jolie and even with those two names she still made a huge presence in the film. Let's not forget the classic quote "i'll never tell" in 'Don't Say A Word' with Michael Douglas. Played Drew Barrymore's best friend in 'Riding in Cars with Boys' and received critical acclaim for playing Alex in '8 mile' against Eminem. She filmed 'Just Married' with Ashton Kutcher which off-scene started a relationship for awhile, but the movie did wonderful at the box office and really showed both their comedic skills and they definitely had chemistry. With that she carried two films, 'Uptown Girls' & 'Little Black Book' on her own and did well. She then did a few other big films like Sin City & Happy Feet but then kinda of disappeared - doing some minor films or straight to DVD - which I did/do not understand.

For a complete list of all her credits please visit the following:

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005261/

Please remember Brittany's performances and how her smile literally lightened up the screen.

'Kiss with the Fist' music video by Florence & the Machine

So i'm totally loving the chorus off this single, "Kiss with the Fist" off the debut album by Florence & the Machine. 'Kiss with the fist is better than none..'. This song I beleive is actually on the Jennifer Body's soundtrack (which the movie totally bombed at the box office) but just to fyi all you readers this song is NOT about domestic abuse/violence. It's just a statement about certain relationships that can be emotionally tough; certain dynamics within people.

A Single Man - movie trailer

I have to admit this film, A Single Man looks very intriguing and I'm a huge fan of Colin Firth, Julianne Moore & Matthew Goode so the performance by these actors should be phenomonial. And there is oscar buzz for Firth and Moore. have you seen this trailer? what do you think of it?

    Robin Hood Teaser

first trailer for Robin Hood, directed by Ridley Scott and portraying Robin Hood is the wonderful actor Russell Crowe and the classic actress Cate Blanchett playing Maid Marian. This will be another great performance by Crowe & Blanchett - like they can do any harm and add director Scott.

Official Poster & First Picture for The Runaways...

One of the most anticipated movies for 2010 is The Runaways...and not just because the cast (Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Riley Keough, Michale Shannon, etc.) seem to really have nailed the real-life characters but also because i LOVE the Runaways and have always been a fan of Joan Jett and the importance this band and the women (Lita Ford, Cherie Currie and Sandy West). I discovered Joan Jett i'm going to say in the late 80s but only found out about the Runaways at some point in the 90s.

Who else is excited about seeing these women and having their story being told and Joan Jett was very much involved in telling this story and making sure they stuck to the truth and facts. Can't wait for the trailer to hit!

Dear John - Movie Trailer feat. Channing Tatum & Amanda Seyfried

Saw this trailer a few weeks ago - and it looks really sweet and a total chick flick! Dear John; Channing Tatum plays John Tyree, a soldier who is home and while on leave meets Savannah, played by Amanda Seyfried. They fall in love during a short time and he eventually has to leave to report for duty and throught several years - they meet a few times within those years but constantly stay in contact through letters!

I'M IN! Who else is with me?

    Golden Globe Nominations are Released!

So I was curious to see in regards to film and tv who would be nominated.. and I'm happy to see Up In the Air, 500 Days of Summer, and the actors Sandra Bullock, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Courtney Cox-Arquette, Neil Patrick Harris and so many other great films & actors being nominated...
however, disappointed that Jenna Elfman or the show Accidentally on Purpose got no recognition (hilarious show!) or Big Bang Theory.

Below is the link listing all nomincations for ALL categories...

is there anything that you feel should have been recognized?????

"Out of the Blue" by Julian Casablancas (lead singer of the Strokes)

Julian recently released his first solo album 'Phrazes for the Young' which is getting great reviews. Personal opinion -- i enjoyed the album. but this is one of my favorite songs...11th Dimension is another favorite.

Beginning lyrics to "Out of the Blue"
    Somewhere along the way
    My hopefulness turned to sadness
    Somewhere along the way
    My sadness turned to bitterness
    Somewhere along the way
    My bitterness turned to anger

"Mess of Me" new music video/single from Switchfoot

So a few months ago saw Switchfoot (they opened for the great Blue October) in NY and I had known a few of their past songs but never saw them live and wow - they were awesome! the entire band sounded great and the lead singer really has a way with the audience. Check out this new video/song 'Mess of Me' -- totally fun song.

I'll leave you with a quote from Nik Carter (on 101.9 RXP last night) said, "who knew they had this in them"...

Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem... Forever

So i was really hoping this video would be like crazy good (i.e., off the hook, off the chain, you got my drift), but unfortunately this great collabo are not together as they did this video. kinda disappointed about that.. but still LOVE the song, "Forever" -- the greats Eminem and Lil Wayne and of course Kanye West is considered great (i personally, don't like his personality/attitude) and the newbie Drake.
Are you disappointed in the video?

Evgenia Peretz on Robert Pattinson Hollywood: vanityfair.com Dec 09

If you haven't already - please purchase this edition of Vanity Fair (December 2009)and read this article on robert pattinson. Also, check out the outakes one, two & three. I'm sorry but i have to agree that the last massive amount of craziness for young girls and teenagers was with Leonardo DiCaprio and he is today still a bonified actor and celebrity.

With Remember Me trailer released... i think it's safe to say that pattinson is going to have another great year in 2010. he truely seems down to earth which always makes me like actors/musicians more! enjoy everyone...

CMAs last night - who else watched?

I didn't watch the entire CMAs... knowing that Taylor Swift would dominate the awards, which i'm happy for her and all but some categories should have gone to other performances. Keith Urban got completely snubbed - he definitely deserved an award but I guess it's just nice to be nominated? Speaking of Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman, they simply looked SO happy and completely in love (as they always do). Here are some pics...

But I did watch every performance and some were disappointing and others were really good and I'm not a huge country fan, but some performances made me want to hear more of their music. Alot of mixed duos; Daughtry & Vince Gil; Kenny Chesney & Dave Matthews... but my Top Performances of last night were:

Keith Urban, "'Til Summer Comes Around."
Brad Paisley, "Welcome to the Future."
    Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now."
Jamey Johnson & Kid Rock, "Between Jennings and Jones."

So did you watch it? What did you think? Who was your favorite performance?

    DARE

"Uncertainty" Movie Trailer -- what do you think?

The great Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Lynn Collins star in 'Uncertainty' which was made before 500 days of Summer...so makes me wonder?
Regardless, I'm a HUGE fan of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and definitely want to see what this movie is really trying to show the audience.
From what i understand, this movie is based on a couple who are in love but come to a point where they need to make a huge decision and make it right on the Brooklyn Bridge. Let me know what you think??

Empire State of Mind... by Jay-Z & featuring Alicia Keys

Being that both Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are from NY - this only seems right! I was trying to find the video of last night's performance at the VMAs, but no luck.

It was the best performance by far... Pink did awesome as always, Green Day really got the crowd going and Taylor Swift did a pretty cool performance too.

Empire State Of Mind [Jay-Z + Alicia Keys] (Amended Album Version) - Jay-Z

    Takers...

I finally got to see the trailer for the new upcoming film, Takers. The cast is pretty broad but very cool. The only one who would annoy me a bit would be chris brown...but other than that.

Matt Dillon (he is legendary and awesome!), Idris Elba (cool, very cool), Hayden Christensen, Paul Walker, Michael Ealy, Jay Hernandez, T.I. and Chris Brown.

As soon as I started watching this - it reminded me of the great film, Heat. Doubt that it will be as great but looks good enough to watch.

New Song by Drake - Feat. Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem

"Forever" is the first single for the film, "More than a Game" soundtrack, scheduled to be released at the end of September.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this - each time Eminem and Lil Wayne do a verse or two as a guest spot - they kill their part. Especially Eminem....I recall a song called "Renegade" that he also did with a rap icon, but gotta give the credit where it's deserved, right?

    Brothers - Movie Trailer..

This film, Brothers stars Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire - and this movie seems to be full of some great performances by all three actors. New Music Video from Paramore, "Ignorance"

This song is the first single off their upcoming new album, Brand New Eyes, releasing next month.

    Matisyahu, "One Day"

    One Day - Matisyahu

    sometimes I lay
    under the moon
    and thank God I'm breathing
    then I pray
    don't take me soon
cause i'm here for a reason
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
    so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
    because
all my live I've been waiting for
    I've been praying for
    for the people to say
that we dont wanna fight no more
    they'll be no more wars
    and our children will play
    one day x6
    it's not about
    win or lose
    because we all lose
when they feed on the souls of the innocent
    blood drenched pavement
keep on moving though the waters stay raging
in this maze you can lose your way (your way)
it might drive you crazy but dont let it faze you no way (no way)
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
    so my negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
    because
all my live I've been waiting for
    I've been praying for
    for the people to say
that we dont wanna fight no more
    they'll be no more wars
    and our children will play
    one day x6
one day this all will change
    treat people the same
    stop with the violence
    down the the hate
one day we'll all be free
    and proud to be
    under the same sun
    singing songs of freedom like
    one day x2
all my live I've been waiting for
    I've been praying for
    for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
    they'll be no more wars
    and our children will play
    one day x6

    Entourage

I just finished watching this past Sunday's episode of HBO's Entourage and I have to say this is a great season!! Last season I felt that it was kind of weak and didn't really show or use all the potential that they have. This past episode called Fore! and it was just really fun and Mark Wahlberg (executive producer of the show) and Tom Brady did a nice cameo spot.

John Hughes: 1950-2009 - Photo Gallery on Yahoo! Movies

R.I.P. John Hughes. His films made a huge impact on me when I was growing up. The films and even the soundtracks to these films were such an eye opener for me or at times a sigh of relief that someone understood; someone actually got us kids.

For those of you who have never seen a film by John Hughes, run to blockbuster or run to best buy and purchase anyone of his films..you will not regret it!

Away We Go.... >>>GO WATCH IT!!!

Away We Go was simply endearing and real. John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph are soul mates and you know this within the first 30 minutes of the movie. Wonderful, wonderful cast, Catherine O’Hare and Jeff Daniels portray Krasinski’s kinda loopy parents who decide to move to Europe the month before Rudolph’s character gives birth, which totally surprises the couple. Why wouldn’t the grandparents want to stick around?

So this leads them to search of a place where they can settle down and raise their child. They decide to visit some friends and family and all these various connections show them what they want and don’t want in their lives. Continuing with a great cast, Allison Janney and Jim Gaffifgan also share an afternoon with Krasinski and Rudolph’s character, as the women used to work together years ago. They also visit Carmen Ejogo, who plays Rudolph’s younger sister and the chemistry onscreen of them playing sisters who’ve lost their parents young and Rudolph’s character having more memories and images over her sister is very touching and completely real. The next set of characters are college buddies, played by Melanie Lynskey and Chris Messina, who are married and have adopted several children and there is a heart wrenching scene between Messina and Krasinski and Lynskey made me feel her emotions. Probably the best scene and acting for me!

They also visit some family friends played by the great Maggie Gyllenhaal and Josh Hamilton. This couple is a tad bit odd and completely unlike all the other people they interact with and it is hilarious how Krasinski’s character is pretty laid back throughout the whole film until he has had enough – hilarious! Then Krasinski’s older bother has an emergency and they have to make a stop in Florida and in the middle of the night Rudolph and Krasinski have a very honest conversation and it is simply wonderful to see people being completely open and honest with their hopes, doubts of themselves, their wants and fears of being a disappointment in life – No bullshit! But this road trip of finding the perfect place to raise their child and have their family roots was right there the entire time but it took this trip to make them realize it. A very touching film and so different and such a refreshing look at life told from a different angle.

The wonderful and talented Sam Mendes directed this movie which was completely different than what I have seen in a long time and it was such a true honest film. The characters were great and you could feel the joy, sadness and the crazy. This movie is a great film; you will laugh, cry, laugh again and then cry of joy and sadness. All things that we feel everyday.

    Definitely worth watching!

Sandra Bullock's New Movie... got me all teary-eyed!

"Blind Side" is based on a true story and I think knowing that while watching the trailer makes it more personal and more real. Country singer Tim McGraw plays Sandra Bullock's husband and Kathy Bates also stars in this movie. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think.

    JFK, Jr.

It’s been ten years since the death of JFK, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, and her sister, Lauren.

I remember hearing the news and being completely surprised and very sad. Growing up, when the Kennedy family and legacy would be discussed in the news, my parents would discuss it as well. So I grew up knowing who they are and my mom was and still is a fan of Jackie O and that always stuck with me and I remember when she passed and JFK, Jr. stated how his “mother passed surrounded by her loved ones and her books”. Another image that always stuck by me and for most is the photo during the funeral, JFK, Jr., just a little boy saluting his dad, President JFK.
It’s a very sad and tragic story.

T.I's new video for new single, "Remember Me" featuring the great Mary J. Blige

I am a huge fan of T.I. and wanted to share the latest. Let me know what you think of the song and/or the video for "Remember Me" featuring Mary J. Blige!!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - movie review

I finally saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and let me tell you, Director Michael Bay knows how to film explosives! Still deciding on whether that’s a good or bad thing!

For me, the highlight is the returning actors Shia LeBouf and John Turturro – great, great, great! Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson were barely on, which was kind of disappointing. The parents, played by Kevin Dunn and Julie White, were funny, especially, the mother – hilarious! Megan Fox’s character seemed different this time around then the first film; a friend mentioned “they sexed her up too much” in this one compared to the first one where she just came off as naturally sexy. In this film, they positioned her to be sexy, which wasn’t very cool.

Two years has gone by and LeBouf’s character Sam goes away to school, leaving behind his girlfriend Mikaela (Fox) and of course the government and military bump heads on how to help or save the world. Bay threw in a new female to distract Sam; Isabel Lucas played Alice, a college student who was very persistent in getting to know him. Sam with the help of Mikaela, college roommate, Leo, played by Ramon Rodriguez (discovered by Director Bay himself) and of course, Turturro’s character Agent Simmons save the day.

This one does not do its justice as the first film – that I can definitely state without any doubts, but if you’re a comic fan and enjoy a lot of explosions, watch this film!

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

So I finally got to watch the sequel to the enjoyable Night at the Museum… and just like the first one, the second film, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian was very funny and it’s so difficult to pinpoint which character is my favorite.

Prior to watching this movie, I heard that Hank Azaria steals every scene he is in and let me tell you he did not disappoint – simply hilarious. When he and the great Ben Stiller interacted – it was undeniably hilarious, pure comedy. Owen Wilson, Robin Williams, Steve Coogan and several more returned to reprise the original characters and then we had some new blood, including Azaria, the lovely Amy Adams, funny men Ricky Gervais and Bill Hader also joined the cast. Wilson and Coogan were wonderful and made me want to watch the original all over again.

Highlight for me - I especially enjoyed the scenes where they added paintings, pop art and photographs as part of the museum coming to life.

This is a very enjoyable film and pure fun. You walk away from the theatre feeling good and still laughing from certain scenes and discussing what scene was the best and which character you like the most. This movie is so good and it’s great when films can be watched by adults and children and they will walk away satisfied and with a smile on their face.

First In Line - Matthew Mayfield

    Ill run my
    Fingers through
    Your hair tonight
    There’s no one else
    I’m sure of this
    I need you now

    I’ll give you
    All of me
    I’ll make you mine
    If you’ll take me
    And make me
    Your first in line
    Ohh

    I’ve made my
    Home in your
    Heart and your eyes
    You lay your hands
    On my chest and
    You call it home [?]

    Chorus

    I’ll see you
    I’ve kissed you
    Two hours
    I’ll miss you
    I’ll take it
    I’ll make it
    I’ll give you hopes [?]

I’ll give you all of me
    Ill make you mine
    If you’ll take me
    And you’ll make me
    Your first in line

Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh oh ohhhh
Oh ohhh oh ohhh oh ohhhh

    Eminem's new video, Beautiful.....

"Beautiful" is actually one of the best songs on Eminem's latest album Relapse. Lyrically its true honesty and the beat is great, and now he just released this video for "Beautiful" which he filmed in his hometown Detroit.

The beginning of the video has some captions stating certain things about Michigan and Detroit. The rest of the album shows actual individuals in the neighborhood and certain landmarks that are getting torn down that are historic, such as the Tiger Stadium, and Michigan Central Station, the former Packard plant.

The chorus might sound familiar to some, Eminemsampled "Reaching Out" by Queen and Paul Rogers. I love the song, but it's definitely a great video, very touching for Eminem to show the love for where he came from.

watch it and let me know what you think....
