The Hangover Part 2 Trailer 2 (2011) HD

What do you think? Will it be as HILARIOUS as the first? Or will it turn out to be a sequel cliche?

    Sara Bareilles - Uncharted

Love videos with different artists (remember Nickelback's 'Rock Star', awesome video)... seems like such a cool, fun thing to do, work on and edit. So this videos stars, Ben Folds, Josh Groban, Pharrell Williams, Ingrid Michaelson, Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael of Maroon 5, Vanessa Carlton, Tegan & Sara, Cary Brothers, One Repbulic's Ryan Tedder, Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, Laura Jansen, Greg Laswell, Adam Gardner & Ryan Miller from Guster, and Keenan Cahill. (whew...)

    Midnight in Paris Trailer 2011

Okay, I'll be honest - I don't always enjoy Woody Allen films, I think he is a movie genius and an icon in Hollywood history, but don't always get what he is trying to give out to the world, to the audience. but gotta love art in that your audience doesn't always have to understand it - you are creating something to share with the world. Back to this trailer, Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson, Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Marion Cotillard and Adrien Brody all star in this film - which looks funny. Anyone a huge fan of Woody Allen?

The Three Musketeers (2011) - Trailer (HD)

Huge fan of the stories and myths surrounding The Three Musketeers (thanks to my sister)... and I am intrigued by history and had heard they were filming a new musketeers movie. So here it is, the trailer for the 2011, The Three Musketeers. Pleased with the cast, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Milla Jovovich (which her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson the director of this film), Orlando Bloom, Christopher Waltz, James Corden and I'm very happy to say Matthew Macfadyen also stars in this film. Huge fan of Macfadyen in 'Price & Prejudice' - the chemistry he and Keira Knightley had was insane (they should do another well written movie, directed possibly again by Joe Wright?). Anyone else want to see this happen? But seriously, check out this trailer and GO see this movie!

    Elizabeth Taylor, R.I.P.

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born on February 27, 1932 and today, March 23, Elizabeth Taylor has passed away.  Leaving such a HUGE imprint on the world and Hollywood.   My earliest memory of Elizabeth is probably her White Diamonds commercials.
My sister is actually the one who used to make me watch older movies and I've seen a bunch of films starring Elizabeth and remember thinking how pretty and gorgeous she was.   She has been in over 50 films, did some TV work, nominated so many times, but won two Oscars for Leading Roles (BUtterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), won the humanitarian Oscar award, and won so many other awards (AFI, Golden Globes, BAFTA, etc) and her philanthropy work goes on and on, especially HIV/AIDS awareness and causes.

Although she was married 8 times, she claimed that only two were her true loves, third husband Michael Todd, who died tragically in a plane crash, a year after being married, but not before Elizabeth gave birth to her third child, but only child with Todd, Elizabeth Frances.  And fifth husband Richard Burton, who after 10 years together, divorced but only to turnaround and got remarried a year later and had a second divorce 9 months after that, but Elizabeth unable to have anymore children, they adopted a daughter Maria.  Her first two children, were two boys, Michael Wilding Jr. and Christopher Edward Wilding.
Although it appeared she had a dream of a life, she would tell you the best thing about her life was her children, family, friends and the philanthropy work she did for HIV/AIDS.  She was not happy that she didn't have a childhood, but was working at a young age and had such public rough spots and had one of the biggest controversies in Hollywood (Eddie Fisher and American's Sweetheart Debbie Reynolds).  She even stated in Life magazine (1992), "I've been lucky all my life.  Everything was handed to me: looks, fame, wealth, honors, love.  But I've paid for that luck with disasters.  Terrible illnesses, destructive addictions, broken marriages."
I hope she realizes what a true legend she really is and the iconic myth around her will always be present and known.  Besides the brilliant performances, she was a savvy businesswoman, and such a humanitarian, and not to forget a loving mother.    I hope you find the peace you were looking for and your children and family just got an extra special angel looking out for them.  Thank you Ms. Taylor and Rest In Peace Elizabeth Taylor.

The Civil Wars - "Disarm" (Smashing Pumpkins Cover)

I had tweeted this video a few weeks ago... but everytime I hear it I get chills, so decided to post it.
I am a huge fan of this song (one of my favorite songs by Smashing Pumpkins) and SP recorded such great songs... but The Civil Wars did a wonderful job covering this song. Well done... I hope you love the original as much as I do and enjoy this cover as well.

The Black Keys - Howlin' For You (Official Video)

bad ass funny video... awesome! LOL

Foo Fighters - 'Rope' Music Video...

2011 has been pretty good so far for Foo Fighters; Dave Grohl was just named NME's 2011 Godlike Genius Award, [which he dedicated to Kurt Cobain and seemed to get a little emotional...] http://www.nme.com/awards try to watch interview (pretty cool) and their first single, 'Rope' went straight to #1 Billboard Rock Chart. Their new album, Wasting Light has alot of good tidbits... first, they did not record this album in a studio, but basically all in Dave's garage at his home in California. Second, one of the producers is Butch Vig (who produced the famous Nirvana Nevermind album), third, besides Dave reuniting with Vig, Dave also reunites with his old bandmate Krist Novoselic (bass for Nirvana) and lastly, they have been performing the full album, first at the Roxy, at NME and so forth. In an interview, Grohl mentioned that they wanted a record that would be fun to play fully live... and I just listened to their whole show from the Roxy and they definitely accomplished the game plan. Can't wait to see them play live myself...

Below is their official video for the first single, 'Rope' - which I keep loving more and more... also when you get a chance, check out out these songs, 'Dear Rosemary', 'Arlandria', 'I Should Have Known', and 'Walk'.  Anyone else as psyched as me right now about this?

    Super 8 - movie trailer...

Just alone two reasons to want to watch this movie....Let me start off with 1) What a team?  Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams!  And 2) Kyle Chandler (Coach Tayler on the awesome NBC show Friday Night Lights).  The trailer seems like the movie will be kind hearted, okay for people to believe in anything, and seems like a fun thriller kind of movie.   I'm totally in...are you?

R.I.P. Mike Starr (Alice In Chains)

Another original from Alice In Chains passed away yesterday, Mike Starr...cause not official yet, but most likely another death by overdose.  Hopefully, Mike reunited with original, but unique, amazing, legendary lead singer, Layne Staley, who died in 2002 of a drug overdose.  Both are such sad, sad stories....
As a teenager, I was totally into the Seattle grunge, alternative music (hello.. HUGE fan of Kurt & Nirvana), but definitely liked Pearl Jam (and continue to do so), Soundgarden and of course Alice In Chains.  One thing all these bands had were lead singers with powerful voices and such a presence unlike other bands that wanted to jump on the whole coat tail of grunge.  Unfortunately, rock 'n' roll has a history of  drugs, alcohol and many other affiliations, it's a total cliche, sad, but very common looking back in history.  Not always this ending, but a few and so many stories, of artists struggling with addiction, regardless of what the substance is.  I feel bad for those individuals who really want to stop and struggle with it everyday just as another person has to struggle with which car to drive, shoes to wear or how they want their coffee.  It's a sad and tragic thing and I feel for any person struggling and I feel for those friends and family who are supporting and trying to be there and for those who admit they need help - you are so strong, continue to fight!
In honor of Mike Starr, Layne Staley and Alice In Chains, I've posted some of my favorite songs... the very first song I heard was 'Man in the Box' - totally blown away and Layne's voice, my lord, just intoxicating.  Of course, another favorite I had posted a few weeks ago, another band did a cover, 'Would?'.  'Rooster' another great one..the original music video is a little bloody so decided to post the Unplugged version.   I'll try to twitter some other favorites, 'I Stay Away', 'No excuses' and 'Angry Chair'.   Mike Starr and Layne Staley were in fact pretty close and even before Mike's death, he said, "that Layne was just a good, great person and it was sad to lose a person in general, but then a friend, someone I relied on..."  At one point, saying, "I to this day, I sometimes feel naked without Layne in this life."   I hope Mike feels more protected and not so vulnerable... again, the music lives on forever!

    Remembering Notorious B.I.G.

It's been 14 years since Biggie Smalls was murdered... very tragic, disappointing and sad. 'Juicy' is one of my favorite songs and to think, he was only 24 years old when he was gunned down and left such a presence in the music industry and such a mark on hip hop. But as all other greats that have gone too young... their music lives on.
    What's your favorite song/video by Notorious B.I.G.?

The Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness Official Video....

The Strokes are back and I'm totally excited to hear the new album, Angles.  I've heard some songs and only hearing great reviews and supposedly The Strokes, once they decided to record a new album, they decided to just start clean as the beginning of the group...Their first album, This Is It has to be one of the best albums of the past decade, hands down!   So if they can create something new but yet their own...shoot, i'm excited!  Are you?
So this single and video is pretty cool... now that I saw the video I'm appreciating the song so much more.   Let me know what you think of the video...enjoy!

Nirvana - Nevermind.... 20 years later!

Since the first time I heard, 'Come As You Are' I was hooked on Nirvana and Kurt Cobain.  Yes, I loved 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' but something about Come As You Are... anyway, in September marks the 20th anniversary of when the album Nevermind was released.  And being that I am a HUGE fan still... I will post (or try to post) once a month a song off that album.  Ah, who am I kidding and anything else I want from Nirvana or Kurt Cobain.   Also, for those who didn't know, on February 20th, if Kurt were alive, he would have turned 44....imagine?   So I will post something from the best unplugged album ever, ever.... seriously EVER, MTV Unplugged in New York album.

Happy Birthday Kurt Cobain ~~ 'I'm so happy 'Cause today I found my friends They're in my head'
