Lykke Li - 'Sadness is a Blessing' (Director Tarik Saleh)

I've been IN LOVE with this song since I heard it on MTV Unplugged last month... I tried to post the official video which stars the great actor, Stellan Skarsgard.  I REALLY enjoyed the video, love when I feel inspired by art!  I was able to post the MTV Unplugged performance... but if you can watch the official video at this link, http://youtu.be/Xu-b3u5jDiU
Here are some of the lyrics.. just beautiful and don't forget to buy her album,
    Sadness is a blessing

    Sadness is a pearl

    Sadness is my boyfriend
    Oh, sadness I'm your girl

I ranted, I pleaded, I beg him not to go
For sorrow, the only lover I've ever known
Every night I rant, I plead, I beg him not to go
Will sorrow be the only lover I can call my own?

    Sadness is a blessing
    Sadness is a pearl
    Sadness is my boyfriend
    Oh, sadness I'm your girl

2011 Billboard Awards - Best Dressed!

So last night's show didn't have too many daredevils in the fashion category, however, one of the best dressed last night was Nicole Kidman, wearing something simple but gorgeous... and her handsome, charming husband Keith Urban always looks really good.. great couple right here!   Rihanna took a chance and looked classy in her Max Azria white suite and Nas looking good.

Selena Gomez looks daring and pretty just as Britney Spears looks great.   Taylor Swift and Beyonce always looking classy.  Lady Antebellum, always looking wonderful!

    2011 Cannes Film Festival -- Movies & Fashion Part 4 (& Final)

I believe this will be my last posting regarding Cannes... as I thought, Terrence Malick, the great and shy director's film Tree of Life was a success, it won Palme d'Or, best Director went Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive, another film I can't wait to watch!  Best actor went to Jean Dujardin for his role in The Artist and lastly best actress went to Kirsten Dunst for Melancholia, which looks interesting.

Uma Thurman has been a constant work of art during this festival...she is wearing Chanel Haute Couture and Jude Law handsome as always attending the amfAR Gala.  The following photos are others that attended this gala.. looking really gorgeous and fabulous!

Ryan Gosling is not just simply a young great actor but he is just very charming and handsome.   Here is attending Cinema For Peace dressed all in Ferragamo.

At the Drive photo call wearing a shirt by Ferragamo.  And then attending the Drive premiere, looking devish handsome in a custom-made blue suit by Ferragamo and to end the festival, he attended the Palme d'Or Winners photo call in a custom-made tuxedo by Balenciaga.

Here are some of the last actors that looked amazing during the last three days of the festival...

2011 Billboard Awards - Top Performances!

I have to admit... I hadn't realized it was five years since the last Billboard Awards had aired.  But last nights show was a great way to say we are back and better than ever minus a few WTF performances, like why did they have Taio Cruz (who looked so awkward accepting the award, even Britney and her bf Jason stared at him wondering what's going on?!), OneRepublic and then joining Far East Movement who was later joined by Snoop Dogg.  I'm sorry - what just happened?

But I have to admit some great, great performances, by the reliable country rocker Keith Urban, always puts 100% Beyonce, the cool Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo and Lady Antebellum performing a new song, 'Just a Kiss'.  Ke$ha totally showed off her singing chops, proving she just not a auto tune singer, since we are on the topic, Black Eyed Peas fun filled performance (while they did when an award, Will.I.Am decided to thank technology and one of his endorsers Intel, really?).  But what really stole the show was miss Britney Spears entering the stage for two guest spots, first with the awesome opening performance by Rihanna for 'S&M' and then later on with Nicki Minaj, singing a chorus of her own hit, 'Til the World Ends'.  Although Britney looked like she was having fun and was loving it, she seemed a bit nervous or awkward... at the end of each performance she would turn to Rihanna and Minaj and all the girls would smile, happy that the performance went without an hicups and they all looked like they had fun, which is important, right?   Was Britney lip syncing?  Either way, I think it's awesome that Britney did her thing and they girls all had fun doing it.   What do you guys all think?

2011 Cannes Film Festival -- Movies & Fashion Part 3....

I have to admit this festival has had some wonderful gowns and handsome men - just really stunning!  And we continue on with more glamour from Cannes.
Okay, one of the prettiest dresses this entire festival that I have seen is this beautiful mustard Chloe dress that Kirsten Dunst is wearing.  Love the simplicity of the dress and the color totally rocks on Dunst.  I think she looks amazing (and i'm not usually a fan of Dunst).   She is in Cannes promoting a film called, Melancholia, which is getting great reviews.  Jodie Foster in a beautiful Balenciaga gown at the premiere.  Let me tell you the whole navy blue is so in at Cannes this year.

Bar Refaeli looking magnificent in a navy blue gown by Robert Cavalli at The Beaver premiere, which is also getting great buzz.  The stars and director, great but rather controversial in these past few years, Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster looking great in Giorgio Armani.  Refaeli also attended a store opening for Cavalli and loving the dress she wore (of course, it's Cavalli).

    Redlight King - 'Old Man'

I can't believe Neil Young actually allowed someone to sample his music. But this reminds you why Neil Young is a full blown musician.  His priority is always about the music and from what I've read, Kaz (RedLight King) asked him to hear the song and Neil Young heard it once and said yes.  Which is really unheard of for Neil Young - I really believe this is the first time he has allowed anyone to sample his music.  I think this song is well done, I think it brings Young's 'Old Man' original into a nice modern place without taking it somewhere its not cool and destroying the point of the original classic song.  Both songs are about struggles and looking back and it just fits really well and I think its a really great way to show respect/love of the music and of Neil Young.  I think Kaz/Redlight King definitely showed his music ear well and also showed his personal respect to Neil Young.    Redlight King is released an album this summer called, Something for the Pain.
A bit of the lyrics from 'Old Man' that really struck me
Start again, never breathe a word of his loss
    Cause it's not about winning
    It's the rivers you cross
And the pain that you feel
Could be the fuel that you use
And if you're in need of direction
Be it the path that you choose
My old man is a legend.

The Head and the Heart - Lost In My Mind (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I have to confess, I immediately liked the song upon hearing it, but I kind of dismissed it because I was on like 'oh wow, they kinda sound like Mumfurd & Sons' but I saw them on Jimmy Fallon last night and wow, amazing live performance. I just had to post the video to this song... I can't find the video of last nights performance, but as soon as I do, you know thats coming up. Cause right now, I'm loving this song!!

2011 Cannes Film Festival -- Movies & Fashion Part 2....

Time to post a second entry dedicated to the 2011 Cannes Film Festival... which fashion wise is wonderful.  Reading mixed reviews on some films, especially The Tree of Life which is competing and I really want to see it.

But before we get to that film, wanted to post some pictures of one of my favorite actors of all time, Johnny Depp.  I've posted Depp at the photo call for Pirates of the Caribbean:  On Stranger Tides.  I've also included a picture of Penelope Cruz, who looked amazing in Stella McCartney.  I've also posted both of them on the red carpet for the film, Penelope wearing Marchesa, but Johnny Depp is the classic in this picture.  How can he be so beautiful...bless him, the career and all the great films he has made (and will make) that I have grown up watching and loving...thank you Johnny!

Brad Pitt being such an attractive man but he did look good at the photo call and on the red carpet with his lady, Angelina Jolie.  And this photo call, Brad decided to stay cool all in white (Maison Martin Margiela and Tom Ford sunglasses) and his co-star, Jessica Chastain is wearing a beautiful red Oscar de la Renta dress and shoes by Brian Atwood.

This premiere was a full celebrity line...including Brad and his lady, Jolie in a beautiful Atelier Versace gown, co-stars Chastain in a very pretty yellow Zac Posen dress and the wonderful bad boy Sean Penn all suited up.  Other attendees included, the gorgeous rocker Gavin Rossdale and his cool wife Gwen Stefani in a stunning Stella McCartney jumpsuit, the always beautiful Zoe Saldana (Giorgio Armani).

Iconic Rob Lowe looking sharp on the red carpet with his wife and speaking of legendary, Dennis Hooper's son Henry Hooper attended the premiere with his 'Restless' co-star Mia Wasikowska.    Jude Law, looking relaxed and comfortable, since he has to be at the festival the entire time, I believe Jude decided to play with his clothes, I mean how many times can one man wear a black suit/tux?

The remainder of pictures are other actors that stood out to me... starting with Uma, well, she is just a show stopper these past few days... simple and elegant.  Bar Refaeli wearing a sequined dress by Roberto Cavalli.   Gwen in her own label, wearing such a fun summer dress, just really pretty.  And lovebirds, Max Irons (son of another legendary actor, Jeremy Irons) and Australian actress Emily Browning, enjoying each others company as it appears (how cute are they???!).  What's your favorite so far?

thank you to www.people.com, www.justjared.com and www.yahoo.com for images!!
