So tonight I’m hoping it will be a movie night…there a few that I would like to see (Revolutionary Road, Notorious, The Reader, The Wrestler), but below are some new movies opening up this weekend that look interesting:
Taken – definitely intrigued. I’ll be honest, the first time I saw the trailer for this movie and saw Liam Neeson as an action character, it stopped me in my tracks. I was not expecting to see him in that role, but then I saw the trailer a second time and I have to admit it looks like a great movie. Let’s not forget Liam Neeson is a wonderful actor (think Schindler’s List, Love actually, Gangs of New York, and so on ~ great portrayals). I’m curious to see him in this role and I’ve heard he and Steven Spielberg might do a movie based on the life of President Abraham Lincoln.
The Uninvited – Elizabeth Banks is everywhere! I am amazed at how many films she has been in – in the past three months (think fast -- W, Zack & Miri make a porno, Role Models) and I believe she did one or two earlier in 2008.
Don’t get me wrong, I love watching scary movies and I would watch it just because it is a scary movie (during the day of course), however, I don’t think this is going to be like a rare, different kind of film.
New in Town – total chick flick. I love Harry Connick, Jr. – probably since Excess Baggage with Benicio del Toro and Alicia Silverstone, oh and let’s not forget Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock. Renee Zellweger has done some great performances (Cold Mountain, Cinderella Man), but sometimes her chick flicks don’t always grab me, but I’m willing to see this one.

Oh I hope everyone watched (or tivo'd) Friday Night Lights last night! I know this sounds a bit repetitive, but this is a great show and everyone should be watching! Regardless if you like football or not, it just shows real people dealing with everyday life situation and sometimes you find yourself with a person who really wants you to make it and it just reminds you of struggles and overcoming them – DETERMINATION. If you haven’t seen any episode start programming your tivo for this season and rent or try to watch the 2 previous seasons online to catch up with all you’ve missed.
